About the Role
The Grant Writer/Manager will play a pivotal role in researching and securing funding opportunities. This individual will be responsible for the full life cycle of grant applications, from identifying potential opportunities to managing the submission process. Collaboration across departments to gather relevant data and insights is key to the success of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Research Grant Opportunities: Conduct in-depth research to identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and private entities that align with SOFtoSOM’s goals.
Grant Writing & Submission: Prepare, write, and submit compelling grant proposals that effectively communicate SOFtoSOM’s mission, programs, and needs.
Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with program managers, finance teams, and leadership to gather necessary data, budget details, and program information required for grant submissions.
Compliance & Tracking: Ensure compliance with all grant deadlines and reporting requirements. Monitor and track grant statuses, applications, and communications to ensure timelines are met.
Database Management: Maintain a detailed database of grant applications, submission statuses, deadlines, and funding updates. Provide regular status reports to leadership on grant activity.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Proven experience in grant writing, with a track record of securing grants.
Strong understanding of the grant application process, including government and private funding sources.

Excellent written communication and editing skills with attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.
Â
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams.

Proficiency in grant management software or tracking tools.

Preferred Experience:
Â
Experience working in the medical, medical device, pharmaceutical or nonprofit industries.
Â
Familiarity with both government and private foundation grant processes.
