About the Role
The Assistant Scholarship Director supports the administration and management of the SOFtoSOM scholarship program. They will work directly with the Scholarship Director ensuring efficient processing, compliance, and accessibility for applicants as they manage providing the resources scholars need to succeed.
Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee research, analysis, and reporting to enhance the effectiveness of the scholarship program.
Assist in the review, selection, and distribution of scholarship awards, ensuring a fair and transparent process.
Serve as a key point of contact for scholars, third-party organizations, and donors, fostering strong relationships.
Maintain accurate scholarship records, track fund allocation, and monitor spending to align with the fiscal year budget.
Ensure strict adherence to funding guidelines, organizational policies, and regulatory compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrates a strong commitment to transparency and integrity in all aspects of work.
Proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively as part of a high-performing team.
Proactive, eager to learn, and takes initiative to improve processes and outcomes.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable adapting to new technology and software tools.
EXPECTATIONS
Commit approximately 5 hours per month, with increased time requirements during the recruitment cycle.
Actively participate in team meetings, providing updates and insights on scholarship operations.
Regularly report to the Scholarship Director and Director of Finance, ensuring transparency in fund allocation and compliance.
Organize and save documents to ensure accessibility and record-keeping.
